as we all know, pollution is harmful to living beings. there are many different types of pollutions in this world. for instance, water pollution, air pollution, noise pollution and so on. water pollution cause many kinds of disease that have negative effects on human beings, sometimes the diseases will take people’s life away. dirty air will increase the rate of getting lung cancer. while the noise pollution will cause insomnia. people’s health condition will be damaged.

in my humble opinion, people should take measures to control the pollution. recently, not only the government, but also individual has taken part in the action of protecting the environment. this is a good sign. rivers are being cleaned, air is purified, and the people come to realize that the importance of protecting the environment.

however, this is not enough, the problems are still exist. not all of them have been solved. some factories are still pouring dirty water into the rivers or give off the toxic gas into the sky. we should know that protecting the environment needs everybody’s effort.

通过实地调查和上网查资料，我了解到以前的荆州护城河污染十分严重。护城河两侧共有二十多个排污口，每一天城区的生活及工业污水排入护城河，直接排入的总污水量约5万立方米。因此，河水变成了浑浊的墨绿色。居住在附近的居民和过往的行人也非常不爱护环境，把垃圾随随便便仍进河里，使河水的'污染进一步加重。由于护城河是死水，无法流动，河底淤泥非常多，水面上漂浮着大量的蓝藻，河底的沉积物散发着臭味。人们从这里经过，都要捂着鼻子，加快脚步。

护城河的污染成为了荆州人的心中之痛。在广大市民的期盼下，市政府对护城河进行了彻底的治理。经过清淤、补水、截污、绿化……护城河面貌焕然一新。

如今的护城河碧波荡漾，波光粼粼。护城河宛如一面绿色的大镜子，映出了蓝天白云和古老城墙的美丽倒影。几只鸭子在水面上嬉戏，几条小船在小河上悠闲地驶来驶去，真可谓“舟行碧波上，人在画中游”。河岸上杨枊依依，与古老的城墙交相辉映，美不胜收。

一场倾盆大雨刚刚平息，小鸭子在鸭妈妈的带领下漫步在雨后温哥华的街头。小鸭子们好奇的望着来来往往的车流，和行色匆匆的路人。不知不觉中，两只小鸭子一不小心滑进了路边打开的下水井中。

下水井非常深，四周一片漆黑，两只小鸭子发现妈妈和兄弟们都不在身边，非常害怕。由于大雨刚过后，污水流得非常急，小鸭子惊慌失措地拍打着水，发出刺耳的“嘎嘎”声。

鸭妈妈使劲把脖子往下伸，可就是够不到小鸭子。在这一瞬间，从鸭妈妈的眼睛中流露出绝望的神情，但马上，它的目光又坚定了起来。它用温柔的声音对井里的小鸭子叫着，小鸭子们立刻不出声了，反而有节奏地打起了水。鸭妈妈用急切的目光扫视着四周，最后落在了马路对面的巡警身上。它的眼神里一下子充满了希望。面对着急速的车流，鸭妈妈并没有冒失地穿过去，而是和小鸭子一起冲马路对面大声叫着。司机们明白了它们的意思，于是开始减速。飞速的车流立刻缓了下来，渐渐地让出了一条宽阔的道路。鸭妈妈一摇一摆地走了过去，一边走一边友好地叫着，并向四周的司机们点头致意。终于，它们找到了巡警，于是小鸭子和妈妈一起恳求地叫着，然后围在巡警脚边，小鸭子们轻轻地叼着巡警的裤腿，鸭妈妈则用身体蹭巡警的腿。终于，巡警注意到了它们，于是鸭妈妈向马路对面大叫，眼中闪着伤心的神情。这时，从对面的下水井中传来了小鸭子筋疲力尽的叫声，巡警一下子明白了鸭妈妈的意思。

事不宜迟，机制的巡警从头上摘下了帽子，然后又把绳子系在上面，紧接着马上抱起鸭妈妈和它的孩子们年穿过了马路，来到了下水井旁。只见巡警把帽子用绳子小心翼翼地放下去。鸭妈妈站在井口，耐心地叫着。小鸭子望望妈妈，又看看身后的帽子，都游到了里面。

巡警终于把小鸭子救了上来。鸭妈妈又是点头又是哈腰，不时发出欢快的叫声。小鸭子见到了自己的妈妈，高兴地扑到了它的怀里。鸭妈妈用翅膀抚去了小鸭子身上的水，然后又把所有的宝宝们都拥到自己的怀里。巡警不想打扰这温馨的一家，默默地走了。
